JLR currently have a fantastic new opportunity for a Software Quality & Process Engineer to join their Embedded Software Development Team. Hybrid and Electrified powertrains support Jaguar Land Rover's objective of delivering clean and efficient products to our customers. In-house development of the embedded base & application software provides JLR with the capability to rapidly develop and deploy customer features, maximising the benefits of these technologies through a short time to market, delivering unique industry leading functionality. In the Software Quality & Process Engineer role, you will play a key part in supporting the Base and Application software teams deliver quality software for our next generation of Electrification components.

Your experience in quality software development & delivery in the Automotive or an equivalent safety critical industry will enable you to quickly understand the product and software roadmap and maintain a customer focus in providing insight and support to the software teams to define, develop and follow industry recognised software quality processes.

You will be responsible for the planning, definition and deployment of software quality processes, seeking alignment across the business and supporting software developers follow the process in their day-to-day activities, optimising the process to deliver quality software in an efficient manner. The role also encompasses development and control of process documentation and related tools, as well as supporting internal and external quality audits.,

  • Improve the operating processes to improve efficiency, quality and meet ASPICE compliance level 2.

  • Continually measure adherence to operating processes via internal audits. Resolve or escalate issues of non-compliance.

  • Improve substantially the documentation of the operating process (the QMS), to improve use, understanding and adherence.

  • Ensure the QMS is the sole repository for the operating process, and ensure that it is the 'go to' resource used by all team members and maintain QMS so that is it fully representative of the process used by the Propulsion software teams

  • Regularly report overall status of process compliance

  • QMS includes Project Management processes, Software and Systems Engineering processes, Verification & Validation processes, and Support processes as per agreed ASPICE scope.

  • Planning and leading external audits for ASPICE certification / surveillance

  • Support software delivery team in adopting processes and ensure process compliance.

    ASPICE provisional assessor or equivalent experience with software quality maturity models, e.g. ASPICE, CMMi etc.

  • Thorough understanding of automotive embedded system & software development lifecycle covering base and application software, V-model/V-cycle and Agile operating principles

  • Proven experience of defining, documenting and deploying processes within a complex software system environment to large teams

  • Experience of working with suppliers & customers, both internal and external, in the delivery of software processes and quality

  • Experience using Change, Version and Configuration Management Tools
