Full Job Description
Hutton Church of England Grammar School is looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic SEND Support Worker to join our Learning Support team.
The successful candidate will plan and deliver programmes for individuals and small groups, based on their EHCPs and specialist teacher advice, in the following:
- Social communication and interaction skills
- Emotional literacy and social scripts
- Emotional regulation and anger management
- Working closely with the SENDCO to provide administrative support and complete pupil profiles
- Liaising with specialist teachers to plan and develop the programmes of support
- We are looking for a dedicated individual with previous experience of supporting young people with ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs.
An ELSA qualification would be an advantage but CPD will be provided. In addition, you should show in your application that you have these skills and qualities: - An excellent practitioner with energy and initiative
- Experience of working with young people to provide personalised programmes of SEMH support
- A calm, patient and encouraging manner
- Confident in supporting vulnerable pupils
- An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- An ability to be self-motivated and manage time effectively
- Enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable with an understanding of your professional responsibilities.
- Ability to show initiative and problem solving skills.
- A warm, friendly, supportive school where young people are at the heart of what we do, Minimum of Grade C in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent qualification)
- A committed and collaborative staff team and governors.

Essential Experience
Previous experience of supporting young people with ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs
The post holder will work 8:30am - 4:00pm Monday- Friday during term time plus INSET days. The salary above will therefore be reduced to reflect the part time, part year nature of the role. The point on the scale at which the post holder will be paid will depend on previous experience. There may be the possibility of additional hours during the school holidays to provide support to the SENDCO for the right candidate. This would be discussed with the successful candidate on appointment.
