Sales Assistant

We are looking for a Sales Assistant to join our small friendly team. This role involves upholding the presentation of the shop floor, maintaining back stock, receiving and logging inventory and providing customers with an outstanding shopping experience in line with the company standards.,

• Welcome and engage closely with customers to address any questions and provide outstanding customer service.


• Advise customers on wines - style, pairing suggestions etc


• Operating the cash register, processing customer sales, returns, exchanges, and merchandise credits.


• Process product deliveries and shipments, stock floor and replenish merchandise as needed.


• Comply with store policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations and minimise loss


• Assisting in providing housekeeping and display maintenance.


• Maintaining a professional standard and demeanour, showcasing punctuality and efficiency


• Maintaining knowledge of vendors and products


• Providing customer feedback to management


• Independently opening and closing shop - key holder.


Estimated weekly hours: 14-21


• Experience in retail or hospitality preferred


• Good foundation of wine knowledge, comfortable discussing different styles and kinds of wine - customers will seek recommendations.


• Enjoys interfacing with clientele and colleagues


• Ability to process information/merchandise through the computer system and POS till system


• Ability to freely access all areas of the store including the selling floor, stock area, and till area


• Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-25 kgs


• Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store
