Team Leadership: Lead, motivate and manage a team of Self-employed Promotional agency Staff, ensuring they are aligned with the company's vision and objectives. Inspire the team to deliver exceptional performance, maintain high morale, and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. Ensure our team is best in class and able to fulfil the requirements for the brands they are working with.

Commercial Mindset: Demonstrate a strong commercial acumen to understand market trends, identify business opportunities and effectively strategise and execute promotional campaigns to boost sales for global brands within the Duty-Free space.

Target Achievement: Work with the team to ensure they are set up to succeed for all promotional campaigns, ensuring all key information is cascaded in a timely manner and establish actionable plans of how to achieve the brands targets. Regularly monitor and analyse team performance against targets, providing timely feedback and guidance to ensure consistent progress.

Coaching and Development: Provide continuous coaching and skills development for team members. Identify areas of improvement and implement training programs to enhance their promotional and sales skills, ultimately driving individual and team performance. Lead by example both on and off the shop floor to support your team on key promotional activities.

Business Development: Work closely alongside the Regional Director to build and maintain strong connections with airport stakeholders, global brands and other relevant partners to identify and capture business opportunities. Proactively seek new avenues for growth and expansion, focusing on maximising revenue and our market presence in a key location.

Staff Onboarding and Inductions: Take ownership of the onboarding process for new staff members in their introduction to the travel retail space, ensure they are proactive and engaged in the process for their Airside Pass. Maintain a comprehensive induction for all new agency staff and ensure that they are equipped with the necessary tools to succeed in their role.

Reporting and Analysis: Source key information and prepare regular reports on team performance, sales metrics, and market trends. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and propose strategies for continuous improvement.

Forward Planning and Collaborative Communication: You will play a critical role in ensuring efficient staffing and seamless communication within the team and across various stakeholders and departments in the business. Your ability to forward plan staffing issues and cascade information to relevant individuals is vital to maintaining a well-coordinated and high-performing team.

Staffing Forecasting: Proactively analyse upcoming promotions, events, and seasonal demands to anticipate staffing requirements. You must work cohesively with our head office team to facilitate and develop a comprehensive staffing plan that aligns with our business goals and ensures adequate coverage during peak periods whilst optimising resource allocation during quieter teams

Timely Information Sharing: Work diligently to ensure that all critical information, such as sales targets, staff rosters, sickness, promotions, and updates from global brands, is shared with the team in a timely manner. This includes cascading important announcements and directives to individual team members as well as ensuring that they have access to the necessary resources and tools to perform their roles effectively.

Crisis Management: In times of unexpected disruptions or challenges, swiftly communicate any changes in plans or operations to the team and relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with other departments to find solutions and minimise the impact on sales and customer experience.

Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of communication processes and staffing strategies. Implement improvements based on feedback and insights to enhance team performance and ensure optimal collaboration within the organisation.

  • Strong commercial mindset and business acumen, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

  • Educated to degree level or a minimum 3 years proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the retail or travel retail industry.

  • Excellent coaching & mentoring skills to develop a high-performing sales team.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to build and maintain effective business relationships.

  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced airport environment.

  • Previous experience working in airport Duty Free retail or with global brands is an advantage.

  • Proven experience in staff planning & coordination, preferably in a retail or airport environment.

  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks whilst adhering to strict deadlines.

  • Collaborative and proactive mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional setting.

  • Please be aware you will undergo a full 5 year background check in order to hold an Airport ID.
