Your Responsibilities: - Maintain a dynamic and driven approach to promoting and supporting H&S across the group and the divisions/depots within own remit. Be an ambassador for H&S and promote "out of the box" thinking which enables solutions to problems to be identified and implemented effectively within the depots & work crews you support. - Provide expert technical knowledge to Managers to enable compliance of all aspects of Health and Safety primarily relating to civils, construction and maintenance projects. - Where appropriate, for example planned high risk
work projects, support project management teams with client and project pre-start workshops so as to ensure that the works are planned and will be executed safely prior to commencing on site. - Facilitate the implementation of policies and procedures which help reduce risk and support a positive H&S culture. - Support and work closely with the various internal depots, divisions, work crews and clients in relation to planning, reviewing and achieving H&S objectives and targets as well as promote continuous improvement and development throughout. - Support Business Units in measuring and monitoring performance against the Group and Business Unit H&S plans. - Undertake visits to sites, depots and operational locations to monitor performance and feedback results along with advice and solutions for any non-conformances identified. - Develop and promote positive working relations with all key customers i.e. depot management teams, general managers, work crews as well as external
stakeholders. - Ensure that every depot within own remit undertakes regular planning and engagement workshops with depot management teams and the work crews themselves. - Assist depot management & supervisors in preparing RAMS and briefing workers and ensure that they are reviewed and updated at regular intervals. · - Where working practices pose a significant risk to health, safety or the environment ensure that the unsafe operation is stopped and inform senior operational management immediately. - Ensure appropriate support, advice and assistance is offered at all times and work with the general managers, depots and work crews within own remit to ensure that any necessary remedial actions are implemented effectively and timely. - Promptly investigate all health, safety and environmental incidents as required by company policies, in accordance with company guidance and timescales. Make known to all relevant parties any significant findings/recommendations and ensure lessons
learnt/alerts are captured, developed, and communicated effectively throughout the business. - Assist depot and senior management in closing out all incident investigations promptly and completely and work closely with such people to ensure all investigation recommendations are implemented. - Monitor the depots and work crews within own remit and work with them where appropriate to ensure that all staff, including office-based personnel, receive appropriate H&S training and information. - Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant H&S standards, policies, procedures, and guidance to a level which will allow you to guide and support depots and work crews in their effective implementation. - To be individually responsible for professional and personal development. This will include but not be limited to; appropriate internal and external research and learning, continuous professional development and taking on the role of 'Champion' for at least 1 H&S topic. -
Develop and deliver suitable training courses for staff to ensure we remain compliant with current legislation and industry best practice.

The Regional Health and Safety must demonstrate experience in process industry H&S ideally from high-risk sectors such as oil and gas, civil engineering / petrochemical with a proven ability to sell a strong health and safety ethos within an organisation. - Evidence of experience and success in leading and implementing Health and Safety strategies in delivery of construction and civils projects, which involve cultural and organisational redesign to raise standards and achieve corporate goals. - You will demonstrate effective communication and be able to engage positively and proactively at all levels of the business. - It is essential the Regional Health & Safety Manager has a strong behavioural H&S background and experience of cultural change management, not afraid of a challenge and continually demonstrates a 'hands on' approach. - Due to the regional nature of the role and group structure, you will be required to travel and work and stay
away from home overnight; due to the travel required, the postholder must possess a clean UK driving licence.
