Full Job Description

  • Providing technical support within the classroom and working alongside students, across Drama, Music, Media and Dance

  • Preparing and ordering materials and equipment for use in lessons and to assist with the reprographics and ICT administration within the Faculty

  • Assisting with the Whole School Production, shows and displays across the school

  • Ensuring the well organised storage of materials, equipment and work

  • Maintaining efficient and tidy organisation of studios, classrooms and other areas

  • Share our high expectations for progress for all students

  • Work independently, but also making a significant contribution to the team

    The Bulmershe School are looking to appoint a Technician to support our Communication & Performing Arts Faculty [CAP Arts]. The role would be to provide general technical and administrative assistance in the delivery of the CAP Arts Curriculum to help raise standards and achievement. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in Communication or Performing Arts and will need to be self-motivated and flexible in their work. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals who have experience in supporting the technical aspects of theatrical productions and who would be been keen to support our thriving "tech team" of students in their exam and school production work., Experience working with a range of Performance and Media equipment and resources

  • Experience or solid understanding of working as a technician in a school or educational establishment, undertaking a range of practical tasks

  • The ability to work in an organised and methodical manner

  • Self-motivated with an ability to work to deadlines

  • Able to build positive relationships with staff and students, GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

  • A flexible approach to work

  • Sense of responsibility and integrity

  • Be able to work independently, but also as part of a team

  • A positive attitude, patience, resilience and determination to help our students

  • Tact and diplomacy

    The CAP Arts Faculty incorporates the Drama, Music, Media Studies and Dance Department. The Faculty prides itself on its strong commitment to students both academically and in becoming well-rounded individuals. There is a culture of team work and support amongst the teachers and wider team, who are all committed to teaching and learning, alongside wellbeing.
