Full Job Description

This vacancy is for an Apprentice Software Engineer/Developer. The successful applicant will be trained to use common conventions in modern programming languages to produce well-crafted software. You will work alongside our Principal Engineer with mentoring/coaching through Pair Programming and independent tasks. You will be placed onto a Level 3 Software Developer Apprenticeship and will be required to complete all training and coursework with your provider.

Applicants should be literate and numerate with Grade C/4 and above in English and Maths. Qualifications in IT are preferable.

Preferred Skills
The role of Software Engineer requires a wide variety of skills. The candidate must be able to apply logical thinking to a wide variety of challenges and be able to methodically work towards a solution.
These are some of the basic skills we are looking for:
Attention to detail
Proactive and positive with a 'can-do' attitude
Computer-Literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Effective communication skills
Understand written and verbal briefs
Ability to apply logical thinking to problem-solving, Disability Confident
