Full Job Description

  • Cleaning and tidying salon

  • Greeting clients

  • Making drinks

  • Shampooing client's hair

  • Advising clients on shampoos, conditioners and treatments

  • Assisting and observing stylists, when a certain level of skill and understanding has been gained, the tasks will gradually increase to things like applying colours, blow drying, styling etc.


  • We work closely with L'Oreal so each student is given extensive colour and retail training, and we also offer in-house cutting and styling education.

    Communication skills, Attention to detail, Customer care skills, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Patience, Presentable, Committed, Self-motivated, Strong work ethic, GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C/4) Desired, You must have a realistic idea of what it is like to work as an apprentice in the hairdressing industry and must be willing to help out with tasks such as cleaning and reception. You need to be willing to work Saturdays and at least one late evening before applying for the position as this is a requirement when working in the hairdressing industry., Hairdressing professional

    Browns Hairdressing Group was founded in 1980 by Sally Brown and swiftly gained recognition in the surrounding areas. Today there are 9 salons within the Browns Hairdressing group in Olney, Buckingham, Harpenden, Stony Stratford, Stamford and two salons in both Market Harborough & Towcester.
