Full Job Description
- Producing new mechanical designs using SolidWorks including assemblies and fully toleranced manufacturing production drawings
- Liaising with in-house CNC machining and assembly teams to develop mechanical designs
- Work with vehicle application engineers to move new design concepts into production
- Work with other team members to ensure all engineering files are kept up to date
- Use 3D scanners and 3D printers during the prototype phase
- Load BOMs onto MRP software
- Use of 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge of 3D CAD and using it in a mechanical design environment. They will have knowledge of materials and surface finishes, as well as the ability to design assemblies. - Working knowledge of producing models for CNC manufacturing and fully tolerance drawings for production
- Experience in a mechanical design engineering environment
- Knowledge of different materials and finishes
- An interest in motorsport, Mechanical engineering: 1 year (required)
- SolidWorks: 1 year (required)
Nitron are a manufacturer of high-performance car and motorcycle shock-absorbers based in Witney, Oxfordshire. We pride ourselves in being a supplier of extremely high-level equipment to motorsport teams and individuals all over the world and we export well over half of our products. We have contracts with vehicle manufacturers and undertake prototype builds for new concept vehicles. We also have a distribution and assembly operation in Japan and USA as well as full repair and modification facilities around the globe.
In return for the above Nitron are offering an annual salary up to £30,000 for this full-time and permanent position, depending on ability/experience, for a 40 hour working week, 25 days annual holiday with the opportunity to progress to a top position within the company. - Monday to Friday
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate:
No specific knowledge of shock absorbers or suspension is required, although a thorough understanding of engineering principles will be a distinct advantage.
No specific educational path or qualifications are required, although we welcome applicants who hold HNC/HND or Degree qualifications in an appropriate field.,
