Full Job Description

South Staffordshire College has been successful in securing one-year project funding from Innovate UK to support the creation and development of Innovation Centres across the Black Country. The project is a collaborative project between South Staffordshire, City of Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley and Halesowen Colleges.

Black Country Innovation Services will create Innovation Centres in central, accessible locations within the above FE Colleges for local businesses seeking technical expertise and practical support. The Innovation Centres will accommodate the schedules of businesses, ensuring timely access to state-of-the-art facilities and expert guidance around technologies such as:

  • High end Computer Numerical Control production

  • Robotics

  • Computer Aided Design

  • Rapid Prototyping and Additive Manufacturing

  • Materials and product testing

  • Networking and cyber security

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Web solutions

  • Retrofit

  • Green technologies


  • We are looking for a dedicated and skilled individual to play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of technical solutions within local businesses. As an Innovate Support Advisor, you will collaborate closely with the Innovate Consultant and local businesses, providing hands-on support in deploying and maintaining various innovation interventions, including CNC, AI, and green technologies.

    What you can expect from us - We care about your wellbeing so have a number of activities all year that provide support. However, time off is also important.
