Barings' Human Resources department is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support Investment Teams and provide local EMEA support. This role will also work closely with our enterprise HR and Communication leadership teams to provide regional leadership to our Head of EMEA and other London based executives.
This influential role will help drive our mission by working with leadership and employees across the business globally. The position is both hands on and strategic by providing expertise in the areas of talent & people management, compensation, talent acquisition, DE&I, employee relations, and organizational development. The role will provide a proactive and forward-thinking approach that is viewed by clients, at all levels, to be confident, thoughtful, strategic, consultative and valuable to the organization's success.
Primary Responsibilities
As part of the global HR business partner team, this role will work closely with both Public and Private investment teams as their strategic partner, helping develop and support our human capital strategy. This position balances both the strategic consultation with necessary support for effective execution of people practices. This includes, but not limited to:

  • As a member of the business leadership team, be the subject matter expert for their area and know how it fits within the firm and competitive environment

  • Lead talent management efforts to include talent assessment and succession planning

  • Lead organizational assessments to support team design and/or team restructuring

  • Help drive organizational effectiveness through change management and engagement efforts

  • Oversee annual HR cycles to include performance management, compensation, employee engagement, etc.

  • Assess organizational skills and capabilities, develop plans to address gaps

  • Facilitate the development of compensation plans that drive business outcomes; manage plan implementations

  • Provide frequent data and analytics to leaders to help drive decisions; interpret trends and address as needed

  • Lead workforce planning and help leaders manage to their resourcing budget

  • Working with HR COE teams to lead and implement effective people management strategies

  • Negotiating change across direct area of responsibility and others within the function

  • Fostering strategic relationships with peers and senior staff within the function

  • Utilizing advanced logic to make highly complex judgements with a noticeable impact on company results

  • Identifying training and development needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs; secure resources, support and program development

  • Building and maintaining relationships globally

  • Championing, planning and executing strategic and complex global change initiatives in partnership with business and HR leaders

  • Manage and support HR related regulatory and compliance

  • Advising the global HR team on practices and approaches by country

  • Advocating for the regional employee experience

  • Championing enterprise efforts and reinforcing expectations within HR, and across our enterprise teammates, in covered territories

  • Advance DE&I efforts and support enterprise DE&I initiatives

  • Advising local leadership teams and contributing to their regional leadership team meetings

  • M&A leadership, integration and implementation

  • Performing other related duties as assigned

    Minimum of 10 years of relevant Human Resources experience, preferably in Asset Management

  • Demonstrated experience in organizational development, change management, and coaching

  • Thorough understanding and hands on application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, standards, regulations, and practices

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; must be a clear, concise and persuasive communicator

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with internal clients

  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive effective decision making

  • Demonstrated success in operating within a matrixed environment

  • Multi-country HR experience required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent expected

  • SHRM/HRCI certification or advanced HR degree preferred
