Full Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a People Advisor to work within the People Team. The hours for this role will be 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role will be mainly based at the East End pool, Hadrian Square, Newcastle, NE6 1AL. However, the individual will be expected to travel to other centres across Newcastle to work closely with managers and stakeholders. The salary for this role will be £34,652

The successful candidate will have an interest in progressing their career within the field of HR, and have a curiosity to learn and develop.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • The ability to understand and analyse data, including key people KPI's, and workforce planning data;


  • The ability to think critically, and persuade and influence staff at all levels;


  • The ability to produce results to demanding deadlines and work on a number of key issues simultaneously;


  • Professional integrity, discretion and conduct;


  • The ability to innovate and find creative and practical solutions to complex problems and to exploit new opportunities;


  • The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the People Business Partner and local managers, providing comprehensive advice and guidance on all people related matters. You will be responsible for recruitment and retention activities, advising managers on employee relations cases and building excellent working relationships with stakeholders. In addition, you will be required to support the People Business Partner on the administrative management of Employment Tribunal cases and the delivery of the corporate and local people plan and objectives.

    The Successful Candidate must have:

  • Excellent attention to detail


  • Experience of working to deadlines


  • Experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint


  • The ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality


  • Excellent communication skills


  • Experience of providing HR support in recruitment


  • Experience of advising on employee relations matters


  • Experience of working within a HR role


  • Level 3 CIPD HR qualification (desirable)
