Full Job Description

The Head of Procurement designs and oversees the process of purchasing of goods and services for Shawbrook Group. They are responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, policies, and procedures that align with Shawbrook's goals and objectives. They also manage the procurement team and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards and collaborate with the wider business areas supporting their procurement needs.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and direct the procurement activities.

  • Collaborate and support the supplier relationship owners within Shawbrook as part of the procurement process with suppliers ensuring they adhere to the process and seek both good commercial and customer outcomes.

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and quality of suppliers and vendors.

  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities in the procurement process.

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Prepare and manage the procurement budget and report on the procurement outcomes.

  • Ensure adherence to the procurement policies and procedures and relevant laws and regulations.

  • Train, mentor, and supervise the procurement staff.

  • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in the procurement field.

  • Seek technology solutions to ensure that Shawbrook is leveraging best practice for procuring goods and services and also in reporting of results to Exco and the businesses.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationship with Shawbrook's owners procurement teams where applicable.

    Degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in procurement, preferably in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, methods, and techniques.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyse data and make sound decisions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.

  • Certification from a recognized procurement organization, such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), is an asset.
