Full Job Description

Soiltechnics are looking for a driven, Geo-environmental Consultant to join our expanding Land Quality team. Within this team, you will be working alongside our geotechnical, engineering and ground investigation specialists to provide technical excellence and sustainable solutions to our clients, across a broad range of industries and developments.

Land Quality covers many topics, ranging from contaminated land risk assessments, ground gas design and verification, remediation options appraisals and strategies, material and soil waste management, permits, and more.

A degree of fieldwork will be expected as part of the role, and the amount of fieldwork required would vary depending on type and scale of the projects. As a guide, it is envisaged at least 80% of the role will be office-based.

You would be expected to work across the breadth of the four main land contamination specialities (health, waters, permanent gases, and vapours), and be supported to work towards chartership and relevant RSoBRA accreditations to support your areas of interest and specialities as they develop.

The role is both a field-based and office-based role and you will be required to travel to sites across the country as necessary. Vehicles for travel are provided by the company although you will need to be able to attend our offices and have a full driving license.

Having the ability to work both as part of a team and also take overall responsibility for your personal workload, whilst delivering excellent levels of service is essential. A desire to put our clients' needs first and a thirst to develop your own skills is a key part of fitting into this established team.

As a consultant, you will join our experienced team where continued professional development, training, and mentoring is integral to our work. As well as mentoring junior engineers, we actively encourage CPD and you will be supported to work towards relevant charterships or accreditations to support your areas of interest and specialties as they develop.

Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience, To be successful in this role you'll have a minimum of 3 years' experience within the field and a relevant degree or equivalent qualification (or working toward these).

You will have an understanding of land contamination risk assessment, strong communication skills, be reliable and a team player with a proactive and positive attitude. You will enjoy physical work, be looking to learn new skills and have practical problem-solving skills.

You will be expected to sit the necessary courses, medical, drug and alcohol screening tests as required.

A full driving license is a requirement for this role.

You'll be working across a number of business areas so strong organisational skills are also a must. You'll also have a strong team ethic, have a pro-active attitude and be able to demonstrate strong collaborative behaviors within a multifunctional team.

What we offer

We're offering a competitive starting salary of £28,000 - £35,000 pa (depending on experience) with overtime pay, along with 25 days annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays), paid travel and expenses, use of company vehicles for sitework, mentoring programme for progression to chartership and private medical insurance. We will also consider part-time hours.
