PwC's Alternative Investment Funds (AIF) team sits within our wider Financial Services Tax team. The team consists of tax, legal and regulatory specialists focusing on assisting alternative investment fund managers with a range of services across their business, covering the manager, the key people, the funds, investors and investments.Whilst the team is UK based, the nature of the AIF industry means that a large amount of our work is international meaning there are many opportunities to work with the wider PwC AIF network.Focusing on AIF means a lot of the work we do involves partnership entities.
We are looking for a Manager with strong compliance and advisory focused tax experience in both UK Income and Corporate Tax to join the team based in London.

You will have key relationship responsibilities for tax compliance work that is delivered from our compliance centres.

You will be responsible for liaising with the compliance centre for a portfolio of clients by participating in client meetings, ensuring timetable adherence, supporting the compliance team with any tax analysis before undertaking a technical review of the work prepared.

You will lead advisory focused projects for clients within the AIF team by taking responsibility for researching and summarising technical analysis.

You will be responsible for helping to manage the team to provide excellent advisory services to globally situated clients. You will need to understand the business and transactions undertaken by clients to enable you to provide opportunities to those clients at the right time.

The AIF industry is dynamic, technically demanding and creative and offers opportunities to work on major transactions, international structuring, and a range of day-to-day UK tax matters.

You will be responsible for building close relationships with a wide range of clients, working as part of a team to deliver the full suite of AIF propositions to clients.

You will benefit from a progressive environment where you will be encouraged to develop client relationships, technical and people management skills.

As a Manager you will have the opportunity to develop your skills, drive your ambition and work with experienced Partners, Directors and Senior Managers across the team. The team will provide you with the opportunity to put into practice your tax technical skills in a stimulating and challenging environment.

Ideally you will have practical experience within a corporate, business, partnerships or OMB tax team, but this is not essential if you can show other relevant practical experience. The successful candidate will be experienced in delivering tax compliance and advisory services, with partnership taxation experience being a bonus.

• A track record of delivering quality work for clients; demonstrating an understanding of the client's business and relevant professional standards and maintaining excellent client relationships.


• Ability to work closely with the Partners and Directors in building all aspects of our business.


• ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified or equivalent


• We are looking for motivated and ambitious candidates with excellent interpersonal skills. Ideally, you will have practical experience of working within one or more of the asset classes (private equity, hedge funds, private credit), but this is not essential., Your intellect, willingness to learn, ability to build relationships, put yourself in others' shoes, while always making a positive impact with our clients and each other.
