Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the school to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Facilities Assistant at St Julie's Catholic High School to assist our Facilities Manager in running our committed Premises Team. The Facilities Assistant will assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of the School's site management, which includes premises & catering staff, to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment at all times.

Has previous experience of site management

Can undertake general repairs and maintenance

Can utilise IT systems to maintain accurate records for site management and Health & Safety

Can work both independently and as part of team prioritising workload

To be a keyholder and attend callouts

To be flexible regarding school events, Good Numeracy and Literacy Skills

5+ GCSE grades at C (4) or above

IT proficiency

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

IOSH/NEBOSH Qualification or working towards

First Aid Certificate

Driving Licence

Further Education in a subject that would support this role

Any role or experience which would support the timely ability to perform the tasks required in the job description

Experience of undertaking a range of facilities/ site management duties

Maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment

Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations

Skill to perform basic repairs around school site as appropriate

Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team

Ability to work in an organised and methodical manner

Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise

Ability to demonstrate commitment to Equal Opportunities

Knowledge of systems, structures and facilities in a building and how they work.

Ability to find creative solutions to identified problems

St. Julie's Catholic High School is a Notre Dame school and its aim is to put into practice the principles of the school's patron saint St Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame. We are a school where academic excellence is standard and the focus is on the development of the whole child such that we grow confident, independent young women and men and strong partnerships between home and school. St Julie's is a large voluntary aided Roman Catholic secondary school, predominantly for girls with boys admitted into sixth form. There are 1078 pupils on roll, 174 of whom are in the sixth form.
