Dog Groomer

Dog Care UK are seeking our next fabulous dedicated Dog Grooming stylist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have great time management with an important love of dogs, a creative character with passion and flare with the will to showcase their grooming abilities. Having reasonable knowledge for the majority of breeds and their grooming requirements, possessing the skills necessary to provide the professional grooming services required for the customer and their canine companion. A portfolio of Grooms

Duties Include:

- Managing day to day operations and ocassionally taking responsibility for the shop in absence of a manager, taking calls and booking appointments around grooming.

- Promoting, selling available products/services on sale.

-Ability to work independently or part of a team.

- Perform grooming services such as ear and teeth cleaning, bathing, brushing, clipping, and styling dogs according to breed standards or owners preference.

- Handling of dogs with care and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process.

- Willingness to perform heavy lifting when handling larger dogs.

- Maintaining clean and organised work space within the grooming area and shop.

- Thorough communication with customers to understand their dog grooming preferences and providing excellent customer service, confidence with own abilities and knowing when such preferences are not always obtainable.

- Awareness for any health issues or abnormalities and report findings to pet owners (taking photos).

- A willingness to learn, share ideas and blossom your full potential with a team of like minded dog lovers, on a whole being able to provide best possible experience for all customers and their precious pooches!

Previous experience in Dog grooming is very much preferred, any newly qualified may be requested to show additional evidence of their work.

- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements.

- Ability to handle dogs with patience and compassion.

- Strong customer service skills to interact effectively with customers and their dogs.

Nice-to-have Skills:

- Any experience, knowledge or skill in any dog related activities, handling, training, showing, health & nutrition, walking, boarding would be advantageous.

- A good social media understanding and some experience of Canva or similar.

- Strong customer service abilities or background with reasonable confidence to exercise the practice.

Pay: £11.68-£12.39 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 37.5 per week
