Full Job Description

We're looking for an exceptional DevOps Engineer - IAMS to help us make a difference to our planet.
As our DevOps Engineer - IAMS, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week. Our people are at the heart of what we do and we'll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone., Help the Met Office build Identity and Access management solutions that supports the adoption of cloud and hybrid cloud services that is in line with our vision of: "Provide a unified approach to protecting data and services with an Identity and Access Management service that is manageable, scalable, and easy to use"

  • Using proven industry knowledge and experience with Identity and Access Management to set future technical direction for both the Identity and Access management team and the Met Office development community

  • Establish common reusable IT services and patterns for Access Management for both internal and external customers

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the Corporate Identity and Access Management (IAMS) DevOps team and the services they provide


  • + Support the automation of both the customer and employee access management journeys including the automation of access controls and identity governance

    Cloud experience: You should have experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Programming skills: Proficiency in a high-level programming language. We use Python and JavaScript. (Expert by Nature)

  • Automation skills: You should have experience with automation and CI/CD tools. We use AWS Cloudformation and CodePipeline.

  • Experience with IAM technologies: You should have a working knowledge of identity and access management technologies such as single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and access control.

  • Collaboration and communication: You should be able to work effectively with other teams and communicate clearly to ensure that identity and access management processes are integrated smoothly into the overall DevOps workflow. (Better Together)
