Full Job Description

  • Take overall responsibility for the technical approach of the digital architecture of the company's products.

  • Spearhead the development and adoption of new technologies and processes needed to scale.

  • Collaborate across the business to create and implement the overall product strategy and road map.

  • Ensure workstreams and direction are aligned across different teams and functions in the business.

  • Lead the company's digital transformation, prioritising scalability, resiliency and robustness.

  • Evaluate industry developments, the competitive landscape and opportunities for growth.

  • Identify new tools and technologies that can support and enhance the company's products.

  • Assess risks to the company and implement countermeasures.

  • Putting in place and managing practises to manage projects effectively.

  • Ensuring the department has all the resources needed to meet its objectives.

  • Setting clear expectations for what is expected from each member of the team.

  • Regular review of key individuals' performance against these objectives.

  • Develop and mentor the team to become leaders and inspire success.

  • Lead by example, incorporating company culture and values in everyday behaviours.

  • Build a positive and healthy team culture that reflects the values of the business.

  • Ensure collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practice across the team and externally.

  • Work closely with HR to attract and retain top talent.

  • Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required to fulfil DeGould's objectives.

    DeGould is looking for a highly motivated CTO to lead the Software, Machine Learning (ML), and Architecture teams. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the technical approach across the companies' digital products and services and ensure that the architecture and processes are in place to enable the company to scale. They will work closely with the Product team to understand customer's needs, in order to prioritise projects and tasks. They will also foster collaboration and strong links with the Engineering team to ensure the overall product works seamlessly.


  • The ideal candidate would combine excellent technical skills (ML, cloud, software engineering and architecture) with the ability to manage and lead a multidisciplinary team. Through their previous professional experience, they should be able to demonstrate successfully designing, implementing and scaling a ML platform for commercial applications (ideally with enterprise customers).,
  • Knowledge of project management, Scrum/ Kanban and Agile methodologies.

  • Able to demonstrate ML, DevOps and MLOps expertise in commercial applications.

  • Expertise designing and executing on modern, cloud-first, microservice-driven solution architecture.

  • Strong knowledge of the AWS platform (EC2, ECS, S3, SNS/SQS)

  • Knowledge of other relevant platforms (e.g. Kubernetes, Terraform and Docker).

  • Experience with relevant development tools (e.g. GitHub for CI/CD, OpsGenie or DataDog for monitoring).

  • Good programming experience (Python, C#, Rust, Angular, C++ are all desirable).

  • Knowledge of EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3 is desirable.

  • Understanding of quality assurance and design quality standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast moving, dynamic environment.
