What will you be doing?

  • Managing and growing new client acquisition through pitching our external acquisition strategy to new clients through 3rd party channels

  • Leveraging existing Barclays relationships and broader market insight and trends to identify partnership opportunities

  • Being responsible for using data and relationships to create and execute a plan, making recommendations on how to drive strategic objectives

  • Being responsible for raising the Barclays International Banking profile through designing and arranging events as relevant to the designated markets

  • Partnering closely with our internal marketing and events teams and negotiating with external stakeholders to hold events within set budgets

  • Adhering to all our control and risk frameworks, being part of the designated MiFID scheme and complying with all required standards

  • Developing an approach to pipeline management that accurately tracks the source of referrals and how these lead to new prospects and client opportunities

  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop a more sustainable strategy for leveraging data/resources to identify opportunities on an ongoing/sustainable basis

    Experience in working within the International/Offshore Banking environment and a good understanding of the competitive environment and equivalent propositions

  • Proven analytical and solid stakeholder management stills, experience of working across a matrix to deliver

  • Experience in origination /business development /client targeting

  • Proven track record of creating business plans with concrete final targets and delivering against these on a consistent basis

  • Previous experience leading client pitches

  • Ability to influence across all levels of the organisation

  • Excellent relationship management & interpersonal skills

  • Proven track record developing new relationships from cold /a standing-start

    As a Barclays Business Development Manager International Banking, you will have exciting chance to work within Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management, the biggest wealth franchise of all the UK banks. You will be supporting Barclays International Banking to achieve its growth ambitions and execute its longer term market strategy. The Business Development function has the goal of sourcing new clients, primarily focusing on onboarding clients from external Key Business Introducers and leveraging existing Barclays group relationships.
