Full Job Description

Dalkia UK have a great opportunity for a Building Surveyor to support our PFI and other contracts by fulfilling a programme of building / asset condition surveys on a permanent basis. You will be based out of our Manchester office but will be travelling to sites across the North of England and other parts of the UK when required.

Hours of work

· 37.5 Hours Monday to Friday must be expected to work hours to suit the role.

Responsibilities

· Liaise with DALKIA Senior management, Regional Project Managers and internal management with respect to asset management.

· Compete the rolling programme of surveys to support the delivery of contract obligations

· Develop, monitor and deliver a programme of condition surveys on buildings and assets, using proprietary software.

· Identify where required the need for specialist knowledge and skills in the assessment of asset condition, using the supply chain to provide detailed assessment of life expectancy and maintainability of assets. Developing effective working relationships with the supply chain to ensure the timely delivery of condition reports.

· Advise on statutory compliance where appropriate.

· Comply with all site specific Health & Safety regulations.

· Ensure life cycle plans are delivered to the internal client, by forward planning of the regular condition surveys to meet contractual timescales.

· Ensure all costs are monitored and anomalies are investigated and reported.

· Ensure that cost estimates and works are completed to contract and agreed timescales and requirements.

· When required, provide project management support helping to co-ordinate all major works (large projects, life cycle works, summer works etc.) and ensure compliance with all CDM and all relevant building regulations.

· Provide advise regarding building related defects, supporting the local Operations team as required.

· Hold a degree in a Professional Qualification (Building Surveying, Construction or Civil Engineering)

· A number of years' experience in a similar role carrying out asset collection and asset condition surveying.

· Previous experience of working with a multi-disciplinary building surveying practice.

· Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. Must be IT savvy

Desirable

· Previous knowledge of working with PFI contracts and the principles of lifecycle funding and delivery

· Experience in using AutoCAD.
