We're looking for an Audit Manager to join our team., We're looking for a passionate and skilled Audit Manager to join our team. As Audit Manager you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our internal audit processes, assuring governance and compliance, and aiding continuous improvement across our operations.

This position reports to the Director of Audit and Risk and will involve managing audits from planning to reporting, delivering valuable insights to foster robust risk management, and developing integrated assurance processes across the company.

The working arrangements for this position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days per week at our headquarters in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire.,

  • Independently lead the end-to-end delivery of internal audit engagements (financial and operational audits) from planning through to efficient execution of audit fieldwork, either as Audit Lead or as part of an audit team and reporting to senior stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain standard audit work programmes against the financial control framework, ensuring up-to-date coverage of all aspects of financial control.

  • Support the development of financial controls assurance processes for the ongoing monitoring of financial compliance.

  • Follow-up and closure of audit findings in a timely manner, including review and validation of closure evidence.

  • Maintain audit files and Riskonnect as per the requirements of the internal audit methodology.

  • Responsible for promoting Group Internal Audit (GIA) and its role across the business and building and maintaining excellent relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Lead the Governance Forum, working collaboratively with 2nd line assurance groups to develop integrated assurance and to identify and report thematic findings across the Group.

  • Lead the development of an operational assurance process for ongoing monitoring of compliance against regulatory frameworks, built into Riskonnect.

  • Map assurance activity to identify gaps and support functions by delivering elements of second line assurance.

  • Contribute to the design of the three-year audit plan for review and approval by the Director of Audit and Risk.

  • Prepare the GIA packs for the leadership team and Audit Committee meetings. On occasions you may be required to deputise for the Director of Audit and Risk, attending internal leadership meetings where necessary.

    The ideal candidate will possess proven audit delivery experience, either within a global organisation or through industry-leading compliance-driven financial control audits. This includes expertise in conducting financial and operational audits, as well as effective auditing in an Operations and Manufacturing setting or similar industry environments. A thorough knowledge of International Accounting Standards and their practical application in the industry is also essential.


  • We seek an individual with strong engagement and influencing abilities, capable of interacting with both senior internal and external stakeholders as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and applying Data Analytics in audit processes, a strong understanding of integrated assurance incorporating first and second line assurance activities, possess knowledge of risk assessment and management, and demonstrate lateral thinking to connect findings, pinpoint the root cause and identify themes coming through across the assurance landscape.

    A professional auditing or accounting qualification (CIA, ACCA, GCMA) or equivalent experience is essential for this role. Part-qualified candidates will be considered with evidence of experience. The salary is flexible depending on experience and qualifications.
