Full Job Description

The Doddridge Centre is a busy community hub offering a variety of services and support to the local community. We are looking for a pro-active Assistant Centre Co-ordinator to join our team, working 20 hours per week providing support to the Centre Director and Centre Co-ordinator. The charity works with a diverse range of people and organisations providing a safe, inclusive space for all to use.

Main responsibilities

Assist in the smooth running of all administrative systems.

Assist with the management, operation and maintenance of the booking system, ensuring that booking and invoice systems are coherent and well managed.

Support the Centre Director and Centre Co-ordinator in organising, promoting and advertising groups / events across the charity.

Provide administrative support across the charity.

Assisting with the social media and website for the charity.

Provide support with the community library, and its users

Assisting with the fundraising efforts for the charity

Deal with telephone, email and general enquiries

Receive and deal with enquiries in an effective and efficient professional manner.

Actively promote and maintain positive working relationships with all charity staff and its customers, users and volunteers.

Work closely with Centre Co-ordinator and all caretaking staff (direct employees and contracted out work) to ensure that all rooms/areas are prepared, and necessary furniture, equipment and materials are set out in accordance with appropriate booking instructions.

Liaise with office users and user groups to maintain a safe and positive working environment.

Support and assist, as appropriate, the charity's volunteers.

Attend training and staff development as directed.

Undertake such other duties as may be determined from time to time by the organisation.

This job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out by the post holder and identifies a level of responsibility at which they will be required to work. In the interest of effective working, these tasks may be reviewed from time to time to reflect the changing needs and circumstances. Any such review and consequential change will be carried out in consultation with the post holder.

  • Knowledge of a range of IT systems, to include Microsoft Office 365 applications. Knowledge of social media platforms and WordPress would be advantageous

  • Previous experience of working in an administration role, would be advantageous


  • Friendly and professional manner

  • Needs to have a "can do" attitude and willing to muck in, Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)

  • Pay: £12.00 per hour
